Curriculum Maps Guidelines

After looking at different models of faculty maps, we came up with the following guidelines to help with clarity in reading and understanding the maps:

-if you use bullets, don't forget to put a space between the bullet and the first word

-leaving a blank line between items in each column helps with clarity

-using parallel structure from item to item also helps with clarity; you might want to begin every skill with a gerund (e.g. using, spacing) or an infinitive ( to use, to space)

-content refers to topics, works, issues, problems and themes

-skills should be action verbs or verb forms (see list below)

-assessments are observable performances, probably nouns
